Newcastle United have sent scouts to watch Sporting Braga striker Vitinha in action, according to reports from Portugal.
The Lowdown: Release clause available
The Portuguese forward still has more than four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract with Artur Jorgeās side, but with a ā¬30m (Ā£26m) release clause included, there is a possibility that he could depart the Municipal Stadium earlier than 2027.
The 22-year-old has been Bragaās standout performer so far this season, and after putting on some impressive performances in the Primeira Liga, he has caught the eye of a trio of potential suitors in the Premier League.

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo (via Sport Witness), Newcastle – alongside Brentford and Southampton – have āwatchedā Vitinha in two different competitions and are expected to make a third visit during the World Cup break.
The forward is being āfollowedā by the English trio and he is believed to be āmuch appreciated for his speed, shock-power and eye for goalsā.
Itās stated that a move in the winter appears āunlikelyā, but the release clause ādoesnāt sound like a lotā to the English top-flight clubs, meaning that this could be one to watch next summer.

The Verdict: Wood replacement?
Chris Wood could be leaving Newcastle in 2023 amid doubts over his future after only making two league starts this season, and Vitinha – who has been dubbed āprolificā by Jacek Kulig – would appear to be the perfect replacement.
The Braga starlet has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 20 outings across all competitions this season, showing how effective he is in the final third (Transfermarkt).
Vitinha would not only provide squad depth for Eddie Howe at St James’ Park, but could also offer excellent competition for places against the likes of Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak up front.
